SOP on cleaning of Conveyor belt

1.0 Objective: To lay down a procedure for cleaning of conveyor belt.
2.0 Scope: This Standard Operating procedure is applicable to the cleaning of conveyor belt used in the production department.
3.0 Responsibility:
Officer – To follow this procedure
Manager – To ensure overall compliance with this Procedure

SOP on cleaning of Conveyor belt

4.0 Procedure for Cleaning Of Conveyor Belt:

4.1 TYPE A Cleaning

Change over from one batch to the next batch of the same product and potency and of a similar product with ascending potency.
4.1.1 Remove the “ TO BE CLEANED “ label and affix the “ UNDER CLEANING “ label to
the machine.
4.1.2 Ensure that the conveyor belt is switched ‘OFF’.
4.1.3 Remove secondary packing material, blister, and foil pieces present on the conveyor belt.
4.1.4 Clean all parts of the conveyor belt, rollers, and footrest with a clean dry lint-free duster.
4.1.5 Clean the area near the conveyor belt.
4.1.6 Replace the” UNDER CLEANING” status label with the ‘CLEANED’ status label with the date and sign of the production officer.
4.1.7 Enter the cleaning activity in the equipment usage log sheet as per the “making entry in equipment logbook” SOP.

4.2 TYPE B Cleaning

Change over of product with different actives/color / descending potency or after the maintenance of contact parts.
4.2.1 Put ‘OFF’ the power switch of the conveyor belt and affix the ‘TO BE CLEANED’ status label.
4.2.2 Replace the ‘TO BE CLEANED’ status label with the “UNDER CLEANING” status label with the date and sign of the Production Officer.
4.2.3 Remove all the secondary packing material, foil pieces, and rejected blisters present on the conveyor belt.
4.2.4 Clean the conveyor belt and rollers’ wet duster dipped in purified water and then clean with a dry lint-free duster.
4.2.5 Replace the “UNDER CLEANING” status label with the “CLEANED “status label with the date and sign of the Production Officer.
4.2.6 Enter the cleaning activity in the equipment usage log sheet.
