Purpose: To lay down procedure for Cleaning & Operating of Multi-Stem Thermometer with external sensing probe.

Scope: This procedure is applicable for Multi-Stem Thermometers with external sensing probes used in the company.

Responsibility:

  • Write Your Department Head responsible.
  • Write Your Quality Assurance responsible.
  • Laboratory personnel are responsible for (Eg. operating machine according to this procedure and to inform department head of any breakdown in Multi-Stem Thermometer).
  • Laboratory personnel responsible for (Eg. preparation of Multi- Stem Thermometer related records).
  • Mention Maintenance Head responsible.

Procedure:

  • Instrument ID No.: XYZ
  • Instrument Specification: XYZ
  • Measurement Range: -50°C to +300°C (-58°F to 572°F).
  • Resolution: 0.1°C (0.2°F)
  • Accuracy: ±°C in the range of -50°C to +200°C and above which more than 2°C,
    ±2°F in the range of -22°F to 302°F and above which more than ±4°F
  • Battery: 1.5V AAAx1
  • Storage Environment: Temperature as from -10°C to 50°C (14°F to 122°F)
  • Humidity: <80%.

Cleaning:

  • Clean the external surface of the Timer with the help of a lint-free dry cloth

Operation of Instrument:

Operation:

  • Press the “ON/OFF” key to “ON” position. All the functions will show on the display, then thermometer is ready to use.
  • Unwind the sensor cord, then penetrate the stainless steel probe into test material about 25 mm (1″) to get the reading.
  • Press the “C°/F°” key to switch from centigrade to Fahrenheit reading.
  • Data Hold & MAX/MIN Memory: Press “HOLD, MAX/MIN” key. “H” will be displayed. The last reading will be retained.
  • Press the “HOLD, MAX/MIN” key again. “MAX’ will be displayed & maximum reading will show.
  • Press the “HOLD, MAXIMIN” key again. “MIN” will be displayed and minimum reading will show.
  • Press the “HOLD, MAX/MIN” key again to return to normal display

Alarm setting:

  • Press “HI SET” key, and “h” will display. Press “ALUP” key to ON/OFF Alarm function.
  • Press “HI SET” key, hold it for 2 seconds and the number will flash.
  • Then Press “ALUP” key to set desired Alarm value.
  • After setting up press “HI SET” key.
  • Press “ON/OFF” key to exit.
  • Press “LO SET” key, and “LO” will display.
  • Press “ALUP” key to ON/OFF alarm function.
  • Press “lo set” key, hold it for 2 seconds and the number will flash.
  • Press “ALUP” key to set the desired alarm value.
  • After setting up press the “LO SET” key.
  • Press “ON/OFF” key to exit.
  • Thermometer alarm can be set from -40°C to 300°C (-104°F -572°F).

Precautions:

  • Do not put a thermometer inside any oven or microwave.
  • Remove battery if the meter will not be used for a long time

Maintenance:

  • Follow the instructions laid down in instrument manual supplied by the manufacturer.

Calibration:

  • Calibration shall be performed once in year until unless any major changes in
    instrument that may impact instrument functionality.
