Entry and Exit Procedure for staff, visitors in Pharmaceuticals

In pharmaceutical manufacturing, follow of Entry, and exit procedures for staff and visitors are essential to prevent external environmental dust and microorganism to enter the cleaned area. The following procedure also helps to prevent contamination and cross-contamination inside the manufacturing. According to pharmaceuticals WHO guidelines, there must be a well-defined procedure for entry and exit on-premises. Follow the described procedure below before entering into premises and exit from the premises.

Entry into the primary change room:

  • Wash your hands with soap and water in the sink provided
  • Dry the hands with a dryer
  • Remove street shoes
  • Keep the shoes on the shoe rack provided and wear a shoe cover ( if applicable)
  • Remove street clothes and personal belongings, e.g., wristwatch, wallet, Jewelry, bindi, etc., and put them in individual lockers.
  • Cross over the swing over the bench
  • Take the clean factory garments –Shirt and Trousers for Males –Salwar, Kameez, Jacket, and Scarf for females.
  • Wear the cap first so as to cover the hair completely
  • Wear factory garments and factory-provided shoes
  • Check the attire in the mirror for proper gowning.
  • Disinfect hands with 70 % IPA solution before entering the secondary change room.
  • Male and female staff meant to work in the packing area need not enter the secondary change room (if applicable) and should directly go to the packing hall.
Entry and Exit Procedure in area

Entry into the manufacturing area:

  • Enter the secondary changing room
  • Cross the swing over the bench
  • Wear a boiler suit and snood/hood
  • Wear the booties over the shoes
  • Disinfect the hands with 70 % IPA before entering the processing area

Exit from Secondary Change room:

  • Remove the booties, boiler suit, and shoes
  • Keep them in a designated place
  • Cross over the swing over the bench and exit the secondary changing room

Exit from Primary change room :

  • Remove the footwear and primary gown
  • Cross over the swing over the bench
  • Wear Street clothes and street shoes
  • Discard the cap/gloves in the waste bin after use.
