SOP on Procedure for Coding Accessories

1.0 OBJECTIVE: To lay down a procedure for coding accessories.
2.0 SCOPE: The procedure is applicable to the coding of accessories in the production department.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:
Officer, Executive – Production Department
Manager – Production Department
4.0 DEFINITION(S):
Accessories: sieves, screens, FBD finger bag and RMG filter bag, scoops, blender bin, etc. in the production area.

5.0 PROCEDURE:
5.1 Procedure to be followed for allotting code no. of sieves and screen
5.1.1 Seven or eight characters shall be considered as code no. of sieve or screen, broken down as follows:

X: Indicates department of Tablet for Block-I such as ’T’.
Y: Indicates sieve or screen such as ‘S’ or ‘M’ respectively.
Example 1: TS14-01
T: Stands for Tablet Department
S: Stands for the sieve of a sifter
14: Sieve size
– : Hyphen
01: Serial No.
Example 2: TM2.5-01
T: Stands for Tablet Department
M: Stands for a screen of Multi mill
2.5: Screen size
– : Hyphen
01: Serial No.

5.2 Procedure to be followed for allotting code no. of FBD bag:
5.2.1 Six characters shall be considered as code no. of FBD bag, broken down as follows:

allotting code no. of FBD bag

X: Indicates department of Tablet Block–I such as ’T’.
YY: Indicates finger bag of FBD
Example 1: TFB-01
T: Stands for Tablet Department
FB: Stands for Finger Bag for FBD
– : Hyphen
01: Serial Number

5.3 Procedure to be followed for allotting code no. of RMG filter bag:
5.3.1 Seven characters shall be considered as code no. of the RMG filter bag, broken down as follows:

code no. of the RMG filter bag

X: Indicates department of Tablet Block-I ’T’.
YYY: Indicates filter bag for RMG.
Example 1: TRFB-01
T: Stands for Tablet Department.
RFB: Stands for filter bag for RMG.
– : Hyphen
01: Serial no.

5.4 Procedure to be followed for allotting code no. of SS container
5.4.1 Six characters shall be considered as code no. of the SS container, broken down as follows:

A: Indicates department of tablet Block-I such as ‘T’.
B: Section (P: For Production and S: For stores).
C: Indicates Container
Example 1: TPC-01 (For Production)
T: Tablet Department
P: Production Department
C: Container
– : Hyphen
01: Serial No.
Example 2: TSC-01 (For Stores)
T: Tablet Department
S: Stores Department
C: Container
– : Hyphen
01: Serial No.

5.5 Procedure to be followed for allotting code no. of SS Scoop
5.5.1 Six characters shall be considered as code no. of SS scoop, broken down as follows:

allotting code no. of SS Scoop

A: Indicates department of tablet Block-I such as ‘T’.
B: Section (P: For Production and S: For stores).
C: Indicates Scoop
Example 1: TPS-01
T: Tablet Department
P: Production
S: Scoop
– : Hyphen
01: Serial No.
Example 2: TSS-01 (For Stores)
T: Tablet Department
S: Stores Department
S: Scoop
– : Hyphen
01: Serial No.

5.6 Procedure to be followed for allotting code no. of Blender Bin
5.6.1 Five characters shall be considered as code no. of blender bin, broken down as follows:

X: Indicates department of tablet Block-I such as ‘T’.
Y: Indicates Blender bin
Example 1: TB-01
T: Tablet Department
B: blender bin
– : Hyphen
01: Serial No.

6.0 ABBREVIATION(S):
FBD: Fluidized Bed Dryer
RMG : Rapid Mixer Granulator
SS: Stainless Steel
